Complexity: We’re here with the saviour himself. How are you doing today Sir?
Drunken Jesus: I’m doing well, it was a rather stressful week so it’s nice to have a relaxing stress free weekend to recover.
Complexity: True that. Speaking of stress – Dog The Bounty Hunter is experiencing a lot of media stress lately. What do you make of the situation?
Drunken Jesus: I think it reflects poorly on both white and black people of america. It mirrors the problems of society in a way that normal people can see somethings really fucked up. Through personal experience and observation I’ve had more than enough exposure to racism so but sadly, thats not even the main issue. Dog is the bastard child of everything thats wrong with America. He’s not a celebrity but hes treated like one. He’s obviously not a good person but people are shocked to find that out. He’s not a good father even though he plays one on TV. He should have never gotten a show in the first place, hes a professional bounty hunter. His job is not meant to be entertaining. By paying a non-celebrity to be a celebrity you’re making a huge mistake this situation brought that too light anybody can handle fame but very few can handle the consequences that come with being famous. His own son threw him under the bus, its not because of his sons lack of respect and loyalty its because of Dog’s ignorance. If you can’t maintain the respect of your children their’s something wrong with you deeper than your racism. Nobody wants to expose their true selves to people so when it happens and its beyond their control its always shocking. Dog could have silenced the issue by simply owning up to his faults and accepting them as faults but because of his ignorance he viewed himself to be the victim & was too stubborn to admit that his use of the word nigger was the problem not his son’s interracial relationship. A stereotypical holier than thou attitude, but thats the american way.
Drunken Jesus: Regardless of what the NAACP might tell you, saying the word nigger doesn’t necessarily make you a bad person, meaning it does.
Complexity: Interesting perspective. Let’s discuss another big story this week. I don’t want to put it into the context of the rapper who insulted gays. Rather, what do you think of the broad movement to take away the sagging pants jean style (when teenagers and young adults have their pants down far enough to see their underwear)?
Drunken Jesus: I think its ridiculous. I think its a bi-product of all the shit imus & the NAACP stirred up. White America doesn’t understand the hip hop culture, & they make it obvious they don’t want their children to understand it either. Sagging pants aren’t anymore offensive than short skirts or low-cut dresses. All it is, is a fashion style, nothing more, nothing less. It’d be a whole different subject if is was actually based on fact and not on the fabricated reason of it somehow being viewed as offensive. I think the main reason evolution isn’t accepted by the majority of the population is because alotta people are hell bent against change and in a sense encouraging de-evolving, I mean they tried to do the same exact shit in the 60’s to uh… “hip hugger” jeans I think was the term. Ignorance overshadows logic in any argument or interpretation. Things are only as offensive as you allow them to be. Continuing to base our policies in this society to try to appease the extreme minority mindstate on an issue is pointless, its not how a democracy works, the goal is to not offend as many as possible, not to appease the smallest minority at the consequence of offending the majority. Any debate about clothing I look at it this way, bathing suits are accepted round the world with little criticism & all a bathing suit is, is semi-water proof boxers or bra & panties. I’ve never heard a story of a mother not wanting her child to go swimming because they think swimming suits are offensive. For over 100 years black people endured inhumane treatment working at farms and picking cotton via slavery & helped make this country what it is today by & the only thanks we get is a piece of wool we’re suppose to put over our eyes? Its ridiculous.
Complexity: I have to agree for the most part. I definitely see what you’re saying about a small consensus of people are against the style. Do you see there being any foundation to the other side of the argument?
Complexity: One of the arguments being that the guy who wears this fashion might not be taken as serious, whereas if a girl wore a short skirt, she might be taking serious or might not. Of course, that gets into the double standard between males and females.
Drunken Jesus: The argument of people not being taken seriously isn’t valid either. People who wear baggy pants in situations where they are suppose to be taken seriously are only hurting themselves. Its ignorant to expect to get a job wearing baggy pants and casual wear at a serious job, just as its ignorant to expect to be hired if you’re a woman wearing a short skirt. I mean, its a form of prejudice to not hire someone based on their apparel but its not a major issue because you can change clothes in a matter of minutes, I don’t agree with the hair or tattoo policies some places have but thats a whole different story. I don’t think its a double standard issue between men & women either its way too specific for that its just people with a racist bias trying to benefit off of a small amount of peoples discomfort. The policy of interfering with peoples personal lives is unconstitutional in instances like this one that only negatively effect the people being restricted.
Complexity: Freedom of expression, it’s true, our constitution has been basically mutilated, which reminds me, let’s make a vast transition. Do you think hip hop wants Barack Obama to be president because he is a transcendentalist or an African American? Possibly just because Barack represents change or even a combination of the all the aforementioned?
Drunken Jesus: I think all this pulling of the race card is rather insulting to Barack. People seem to forget Al Sharpton ran in 2004. Its not really a black/white issue, if barack only had supporters because hes black, he wouldn’t be in 2nd place in polls, he’d be doing far worse. Its obvious the black community has more faith in Barack because of his race but hes been able to expand beyond that to the point where white Americans are beginning to feel like he can represent them just as well as he can represent black Americans. I don’t necessarily agree with the “change” argument because in the past every presidential candidate that ran on a change based policy choose to abandon it at one point or another. People want change but they don’t wanna help it follow through because they think it’s easy when they play as big a part as any in the process. A president has t
he power to do many things but to change major things he has to have the support of the people who have a hand in the process, & typically thats not the case.
Drunken Jesus: I also think all the attacks on inexperience especially from the republicans are rather unfair considering 2 of their top runners aren’t qualified even by their own standards. Rudy Jewleeone’s biggest accolade is his short stint as mayor & Fred Thompson doesn’t have anymore experience in politics than Barack does & hes half his age.
Complexity: A few brilliant observations. I’m going to bring up some stories that happened in the world of hip hop. If you would quickly comment on them.
Complexity: Jim Jones disses Jay Z – with a song called American Gangster.
Drunken Jesus: Didn’t bother to listen to it, I think jimmys just trying to make sure people don’t inevitably forget about him. It’s a fairly smart move on his part but doing it without an album to promote isn’t really gonna help his status much. He needs a half a dozen more ballin’ level records to even be considered a threat to anybody who actually has a fanbase.
Drunken Jesus: His beefs a lil’ more legit than cam’s though because rocafella would never sign him even though dipset got a group deal, & juelz got a deal right after cam’s rise to fame. So hes got a lil reason to be bitter.
Complexity: T Pain was arrested on some outstanding warrants including driving without a license and non-moving violation.
Drunken Jesus: Celebrities are people to even though they live a lot different, they still face the problems normal people do.
Complexity: 50 Cent’s – I’ll Still Kill was banned from MTV and BET.
Drunken Jesus: Not surprising. People are still continuing to find the scape-goat for why they’re horrible parents, & rap seems to be the go to guy. I personally don’t have a problem with the ban but if they’re going to start banning music they have to do it in a much more fair & balanced way. If you ban a rap song about killing people you gotta ban a rock song about killing yourself. If you ban a rap song about hos, you gotta ban a pop song about being a ho.
Complexity: American Gangster was released in theatres this past friday.
Drunken Jesus: I’m a big Denzel fan and I didn’t care for it, I may have to watch it a few times to like it. I think like alotta people the hype kinda got my expectations up to the point where I wasn’t going to like it no matter how it was.
Complexity: Jay Z’s American Gangster will be released this Tuesday.
Drunken Jesus: It’s the best album I’ve heard in awhile. I think it will turn heads of people who didn’t like kingdom come. I doubt it will be as successful as kingdom come was because of the lack of hype though.
Complexity: Alright. I’m going to name the hot songs, albums, or videos of the week, you simply tell me, if it’s a hit or a miss.

Complexity: Ghost dropped a new freestyle titled Real live Visual Sightin of a Ghost!!!!
Complexity: Hit Or Miss?
Drunken Jesus: Miss, like I’ve said before its nothing personal I just don’t like ghost’s voice. He could have the illest track in IL history and I wouldn’t like it simply because of his voice. I don’t like most white rappers voices, only ones I can really listen to are scram jones & jojo pellegrino.
Complexity: Best thread of the week on Illest?

Complexity: Who lost the most respect?
Drunken Jesus: I can’t really think of any specific people. So whoever didn’t peep my newer material.
Complexity: Alright. A jesus tip for illest before we go.
Drunken Jesus: Realize your insecurities and confront them instead of ignoring them.
