After a very tense relationship over the past couple years, Ras Kass has finally came to an agreement with Capitol Records to be let go.
“I am just relieved and thankful to my management team, all the magazines that showed me love since this started and everyone that showed their support for me over these past few years.” Ras Kass said in a statement. “Now I am anxious to finally be able to pursue my passion, spread my wings and remind the world why Ras Kass is one of the greatest MCs of all time, dead or alive!”
In may 2004 Ras Kass filed a lawsuit against Capitol Records for breach of contract.
In August 2004, Capitol Records filed a lawsuit against Ras Kass, over his re-up mixtape that apparently had copyrighted material that the record label owned the rights to.
Ras had a total of two projects scrapped by the label and was in jail during the time as well.
