When Chaos Breeds Light

What seemed simple months ago has long been swept away
and the filtered light, once blinding, burns.
“Life isn’t supposed to be all sunshine and rainbows”, they say
but the spirit, repressed and impatient, learns
quickly that it deserves more if you indulge it.
Through broken glass and shattered dreams, smoke signals paint the sky
and the soul within you, once silenced, screams.
Past experience has proven it’s a waste to even try
but kindred ideologies, once united, have been
influencing the world for as long as it’s been spinning.
So won’t you come and dream with me; we’ll weave the most beautiful future
and the broken world, once deaf, will listen.
Loyalty, laughter, adoration - Seems unattainable, sure,
but I believe that we can take this prison
they call life and flip it upside down until it suits us.
Redundancy is boring; conflicting personalities breed battlegrounds bloodier than wounds seep.
Inhale your surroundings; you’ve just resurfaced from the Challenger deep.
