Interview With Viral

Post by complexity »

Intro

Viral is an underground rapper with so much going for him. He has more growing potential then China. You could see him on Mtv one day. You might see him in the Source Magazine. Or you could just see him at a local studio
ripping a beat for an underground mixtape. It doesn't matter where when you do see him. Expect to meet a man
with a lot to say. Who will voice his opinion whether you like it or not. In this interview Viral will tell you first hand that he isn't the average Joe. This interview is actually quite lengthy even with a limited amount of questions. Thats because Viral likes to get his entire point across. Which in my opinion is a great trait. That we all could take something from. So enjoy the interview. If you got a problem with it. Confront him, he will have no problem confronting you! In this interview he will actually tell you that his favorite track was a diss. So watch out!

(05:53:15 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: AND THE KICK!!

(05:53:19 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: *crowd cheer*

(05:53:33 AM) illestlyrics.com: Thanks for kicking off your own interview. What have you been up to Viral?

(05:54:30 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: shit....writing...recording...jst doing everything i can to stay on top of my game really....n of course parties n all dat good stuff

(05:57:29 AM) illestlyrics.com: I see. At this moment what do you consider your biggest weakness, when it comes to putting together dope tracks?

(05:58:06 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: good question..

(05:58:49 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: first copy of the verse

(05:59:05 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: need an explanation?

(06:00:10 AM) illestlyrics.com: I understand. But you can elaborate for the less knowledable reading this interview.

(06:01:35 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: so basically...u write ur verse..

(06:01:52 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: u like ur verse...how it sounds...everything....so u record it.....well....

(06:02:54 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: thats not necesarrily the right thing to do....as much as u love that verse....u can always do better....so ill write my verse...love it..and record it...then listen...and want to re write it all...but cant cuz its already released...so basically...i write my verse...and i read it and read it...till i memorize it...and decide wat could b changed and made better wat can b taken out wats not on topic wat makes no sense wat jst sucks

(06:03:04 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: i mean....u can do the same for a written verse...but it wouldnt b worth it

(06:03:56 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: so after i get thru that....i make sure its on point and everything i want to b dere is dere and not gonna b over shadowed by somethin else

(06:06:17 AM) illestlyrics.com: Makes a lot of sense. Before actually writing a track. Whats going on in your brain? Like concept, how your going to approach it, etc.

(06:08:05 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: my brain..n wats goin on...lol....too much...how itll sound...wat angle i wanna take...will i make it fast paced or slow...filled wit rhymes n different schemes...do i want it to be violent...or story based...or how i should spit it..serious...goofy...pissed...does it fit the beats feeling does it have enough emotion with the beat for people to feel it...wats it gonna be about...i could go on n on

(06:09:42 AM) illestlyrics.com: That's great incite. Whats your favorite track you've recorded?

(06:10:46 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: 16 micz diss...LOL!....jst gave me da freedom to say wat i want...HOW i want...without even thinkin bout if people will like it or not...its one of those....tracks where watever u say will still make an impact some way or another...

(06:13:31 AM) illestlyrics.com: Cool. What kinda tracks can we expect to see in the future. Give us some incite on the high-tech conceptual virtual audio master-pieces that will be released. If you can.

(06:15:23 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: love the use of words...well im actually writing a track at this very moment...2 verses...me n kurse will b on it...its about the past...beat made by all killah..big ups to him...and basically itll have to do wit my past and kurses past...after that....a track that kinda has to do wit a story...set in a trippy mind set that u wouldnt normally encounter....i mean theres so many concepts jst floating around...i cant really say wats to come cuz i still need the beats to fit the concepts and i got some n others ill have to slave n make for a night...

(06:17:49 AM) illestlyrics.com: Nice shit. Here's a tough question. What would you consider your genre of rap. Make up a word if you have to. I personally couldn't categorize it.

(06:18:01 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: Viral

(06:18:06 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: Infectious?..lol

(06:18:12 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: i honestly dont even kno...

(06:18:30 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: its..

(06:18:56 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: lyrically infectious

(06:19:01 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: lol i really couldnt answer that one

(06:19:09 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: ill let the people decide that one

(06:19:22 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: i really dont wanna be categorized

(06:19:29 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: or else im like everyone else

(06:19:45 AM) illestlyrics.com: Good answer. The fans really do determine your life when your a rapper though?

(06:20:29 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: not necesarilly...but without the fans u wont get ne where.....cuz there wont be anyone to listen to u and hear u out

(06:20:53 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: its a 90/10 split

(06:21:22 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: 90% is the rapper...10% is the fans..becuz no fans..means no fame..n no fame means no one sees u...wen no one sees u...u sit at the bottom

(06:22:34 AM) illestlyrics.com: Right. That's what I mean. You only get as far as the fans take you. Agreed?

(06:22:46 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: yes and no

(06:23:31 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: look at ice cube...not everyone is hard up for him...his album sales rnt nearly as high as they could/should b....but hes in movies everywhere....and hes droppin i believe 2 more albums in the next year....

(06:23:56 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: he got himself where he needed to be..and hes still pushing himself without the help of fans

(06:24:22 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: but then theres the artists who dont do that..and the fans determine there fate

(06:24:34 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: how famous they r...how much money they make...how many CD's they put out

(06:24:53 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: u got no fan base u cant get fame or money..and u sure as hell wouldnt b puttin a CD out

(06:24:54 AM) illestlyrics.com: Switching the subject. Whats the biggest disadvantage of being a white rapper? Is it just living up to Eminems Success. Or is there more to it now?

(06:25:48 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: honestly...living up to eminems success is the last thing in my mind...dont get me wrong id love to be up there n make the impact he has...but nowadays there r white/black/asian/indian every type of rapper...

(06:25:57 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: n being the white colored side of it isnt as easy

(06:26:06 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: i dont rap wit any white guys....hispanic and black..

(06:26:54 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: but they all accept me as a dope artist anyways....its really about skill and if u can make people see past ur physical stature and worry about wat uve got to bring to the table

(06:27:14 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: but the biggest disadvantage of being a white rapper is..

(06:27:18 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: if someone never heard u rap....

(06:27:42 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: n they only see u being white...they have no faith of u being decent

(06:27:25 AM) illestlyrics.com: That's the trick.

(06:27:32 AM) illestlyrics.com: To get them to see past the stature?

(06:28:59 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: yeah basically once they see past ur stature its all good from there

(06:29:06 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: cuz no matter wat they wanna hear wat u have to say

(06:29:13 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: eminems encore CD...not that good

(06:29:20 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: it wasnt horrible but it coulda been a billion times better

(06:29:30 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: but he releases tracks wit other rappers...and people rush to listen to it..

(06:29:41 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: wether or not his last CD was a pop or a flop

(06:30:02 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: once they see wat u got...they couldnt careless if u were a fuckin terrorist alien from sector 493

(06:37:01 AM) illestlyrics.com: Haha. Never thought of it like that. Whats it like being a Chi-town rapper?

(06:37:55 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: its good..i love it...i wouldnt have it any other way...we dont got too many good rappers comin outta chi-town...so i feel that i need to keep it goin to atleast..ATLEAST get my name famous in the underground....as one of the best chi-town rappers underground or mainstream...and i may never even get there...but ill never stop trying

(06:39:01 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: being a chi-town rapper gives u alot of diversity

(06:39:28 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: ur in the middle..u get all sides of the nation

(06:41:30 AM) illestlyrics.com: Ah. Alright. I understand. What steps do you take to get motivated to do a track?

(06:42:04 AM) illestlyrics.com: Or the real question is. What motivates you to do a track.

(06:42:49 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: the beat is the biggest thing that inspires me to write a track...it needs a certain sound...its gotta b different...it cant be the same ole shit we hear on the radio...another thing would be...wats goin on in my life....wat someone did or wat happened....

(06:44:24 AM) illestlyrics.com: Great answer. You touched on not quitting. Do you ever get discouraged by certain feedback or anything?

(06:46:07 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: ehhh..not really only thing i get discouraged by...is my own bad work...LOL!...or my really good work...im like..ahh too good...cant do better...but i must!!...wat ne one says about my work thats negative..i jst let it go..i dont even care....its watever..the good feedback makes me wanna do more...i laugh at the negative feedback tho...cuz lately i havent really gotten as much as i used to...(due to elevation)....so wen i do...its more of a...ur hating cuz u cant come near so go write a book...

(06:46:55 AM) illestlyrics.com: What about "making it" as an artist being so hard. And a lot has to do with connections etc. Does that get you discouraged or make you work ten times harder, or both?

(06:49:11 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: i look at it like....im gonna do everything i can to make my music da best....make it good make it so people WANNA hear it...so people can RELATE to it..shit like that...connections isnt a problem anymore now days...i can put my shit ALL OVER THE INTERNET..lol i can send demos to big record labels...i can do things that couldnt b done 10-15 years ago...theres such an advantage to being heard and seen now days its not that big of a deal of worrying about making it...cuz the more people online that listen to u..the more ur fanbase grows...passin out demos..sendin em to record labels shit like dat...so i dont really get discouraged wen it comes to that...i look at it as...the doors open...get up the stairs and thru it...lock it and throw away the key

(06:51:02 AM) illestlyrics.com: Great metaphor. If rapping is a game of chess what piece do you consider yourself? I sometimes think of myself as a checker. I don't even belong in this game.

(06:53:48 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: well im the bishop..cuz i like to take the angles...no one really takes the angles..its either...up n down...or left n right...i like to cut right thru and give it a taste of wat i got to offer and kno that its nothing anyone has ever done

(06:55:27 AM) illestlyrics.com: Great analyzation. This interview has became pretty lengthy already. You have so much to say. That must be a huge advantage as a rapper?

(06:56:09 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: it can be...but at times it can be too much and not really benefit the situation..lol

(06:56:45 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: but yea id say its a huge advantage of being a rapper

(06:57:08 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: cuz its hard to have alot to say if ur close minded

(06:57:36 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: n rappers r those that rnt closed minded

(06:57:37 AM) illestlyrics.com: Is that one of the factors that contributed you to being a rapper? Or what else did?

(06:59:18 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: wat really got me into being a rapper was the way i can put words together however i wanted...and it didnt need to be proper...i can let out my frustration or thoughts out..and put it into a form where itll sound good wit feeling and have words that rnt otherwise used in normal conversation

(06:59:24 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: i guess..a different way of speaking to people

(07:00:31 AM) illestlyrics.com: Yah. I feel you. If you could see the future, and saw that you will never make a penny rapping. Would you still do it?

(07:00:45 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: yup

(07:00:56 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: its the only way i can feel whole and feel like something isnt missing

(07:01:45 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: jst having people enjoy wat i write and record is enough for me

(07:02:31 AM) illestlyrics.com: Yah. That's an awesome mind-state. It will get you far. Viral thanks for doing this interview. Anything you'd like to say before we wrap it up?

(07:03:00 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: no problem..anytime...it was a fun 45 minutes..LOL!....anything to say?....yeah i do

(07:04:01 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: Viral is here to stay so for u faggots who act gay pray that i dont mark u down as pray

(07:05:15 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: and for those of u who got my back, wen i make my first stack, ill buy u a sack even if its crack

(07:05:16 AM) D1s3AsEdV1ruS: lol

Yah. I've always told Viral to keep them coming.

It is easier maybe to get exposure. But you also gotta realize there is a million other people with the opportunity so that limits the chances. Gotta do big things. And keep pushing out more tracks.
